Urban Rivals is an online multiplayer card game. Each card represents a character (some of which are based on real people or well-known fictional characters). Free registration gives a player eight character cards; further cards can be purchased or earned through achievements. Four new characters are regularly added every two weeks.

The game uses affiliate marketing to encourage existing players to recruit or sponsor new players; such sponsors can offer bonuses for purchases of credits, of which they receive a percentage. An associated comic book is published online on the occasion and can be purchased with in-game credits.
